The core competencies of both VSI and SGT support an organization that is positioned to excel.  Our team provides an organization that is capable of and committed to filling NASA’s needs. VPL has as its foundation proven past performance and complementary core competencies.

Vantage Systems (VSI)

VSI, an SBA 8(a)-certified small business headquartered in Lanham, Maryland, is located one mile from GSFC.  VSI serves as VPL’s managing partner.  Since 1993, VSI has expanded their NASA and GSFC support from software development to science support, program management, mission business management, IT, systems engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, spacecraft systems integration and test, and mission operations.  VSI has supported more than 30 NASA missions and currently supports active projects at GSFC, including ASTRO-H, ELC, GEMS, GOES-R, GPM, HST, JWST, JPSS, LDCM, LMS, MMS, Suzaku and Swift data center, TIRS and TDRS.

VSI has grown from two employees in 2003 to more than 135 employees at present.  Our rapid growth has been enabled by an outstanding contract past performance record. Our customer satisfaction scores are consistently “Excellent.” This record attests to a corporate culture dedicated to customer satisfaction and the development of customer-focused business processes. VSI recently participated in an ISO 9001 Stage 1 Audit and anticipates ISO 9001 certification in June 2011.

Stinger Ghaffarian Technologies (SGT)

SGT was established in 1994 and has credentials in NASA scientific analysis, engineering, IT, and program management, providing a wide array of relevant support to more than 40 ongoing NASA science missions and instruments.  In 2010, SGT was ranked the seventh largest NASA contractor.  With an average Award Fee rating on CPAF contracts of 95 percent or better, SGT’s quality certifications include ISO 20000, ISO 9001:2008, and AS9100-B.  Other evidence of the quality of SGT’s performance includes receiving the NASA George M. Low Award for excellence in 2006 and the GovCon Contractor of the Year award in 2008.

SGT possesses core competencies in scientific analysis and research, IT, engineering, and technical services. SGT’s customers include GSFC, USGS, Ames Research Center, Glenn Research Center, Marshall Space Flight Center, Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Air Force Command, Stennis Space Center, Langley Research Center, Johnson Space Center, Kennedy Space Center, and NOAA. SGT has more than 1,800 employees [engineers (61 percent), scientists (5 percent), program management (10 percent), and IT professionals (24 percent)].  SGT is the prime contractor on six major NASA Task Order contracts, which have allowed the company to grow significantly since their graduation from the SBA 8(a) program.

VSI and SGT’s established relationship provides exceptional technical qualification, commitment to customer satisfaction, and records of past performance that support our claims.
