Job Description:
Vantage Partners, in support of the GESS-3 contract at NASA Glenn Research Center, is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to provide support to the NASA Next Generation Radioisotope Thermoelectric Generator (NextGen RTG) Project as the Lead Systems Engineer. This work will involve leading a multi-discipline engineering team in review of project technical contractor products and will advise the project leadership team. Responsibilities include systems engineering execution and evaluation through all phases of the project working with the NASA customer and other stakeholders. The lead systems engineer will be responsible for supporting cross-cutting systems engineering areas such as technical planning, technical assessments, and risk assessments. In addition, the lead systems engineer will support schedule and budget formulations, insight and oversight of contracts, and technical review boards and panels.
Required Skills:
- Experience in all phases of Systems Engineering for technical projects including requirements development, system integration and design, verification and validation, and transitioning a system to operations.
- Background or familiarity with thermoelectrics, chemistry, thermal analysis, structural and electrical system engineering disciplines.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate technical team activities for large-scale engineering projects.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and team leading skills.
- U.S Citizen
Other Desired Skills:
- Engineering experience with thermoelectrics, chemistry, thermal analysis, structural and electrical system engineering disciplines.
- Background or experience with NASA systems engineering processes.
Education/Experience:
- BS/MS Engineering (Aerospace, Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering)
- 10+ years of experience
