Description:

Vantage Partners, LLC at the NASA Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, Ohio is seeking two part-time Mechanical or Aerospace Engineers with significant experience in the development and experimental testing of hypersonics research technologies.

 

Job responsibilities include:

  • Provide data analysis support related to previous tests and research test planning/test support for upcoming tests of the Combined-Cycle Engine/Large-Scale Inlet Mode Transition (CCE-LIMX) model in NASA’s 10´x10’ SWT.
  • Perform test planning, data analysis, and experimental testing in support of the development of turbine-based combined cycle technologies.
  • Quantify the uncertainty from the CCE-LIMX mass flow measurements.
  • Develop a CCE-LIMX Phase 3 Data Summary NASA TM to document the test configurations, instrumentation, test matrix, and pertinent data.
  • Provide support to develop a "High-Speed Inlet Design and Testing- Best Practices" lecture series.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Significant experience in the development, planning, and experimental testing of hypersonics research technologies.
  • Significant experience in experimental testing for the development of turbine-based combined cycle technologies.
  • Significant experience in the analysis and uncertainty quantification of aerodynamic data related to hypersonic propulsion.
  • Significant experience in the development of documentation and teaching materials for high speed inlet design and testing.
  • U.S. citizenship is required.

 

Other Desired Skills:

  • Sufficient experience in computational modeling to provide experimental measurements that meet the needs of the developers of computational methods.

 

Education/Experience:

  • Minimum B.S.; prefer M.S./Ph.D.
  • 20+ years of experience
