Description:
Vantage Partners is seeking an engineer for space mission and systems design and analysis. The incumbent will work with a team of NASA civil servants and support contractors in the Mission Design and Architecture Branch to identify, analyze, and develop mission designs for space flight systems that use state-of-the-art and advanced propulsion systems. Typical responsibilities will include trajectory and mission design and optimization; launch vehicle and in-space vehicle simulation; and GN&C strategy and software development. Additional responsibilities include research and development of advanced space flight mission analysis tools and methods.
 
Requirements:
 
Orbital mechanics
Trajectory design and analysis
Familiarity or experience with any of: C/C++, Python, Matlab, Macintosh OS
Dynamics and control
Ability to synthesize analysis and results into presentations and technical papers, and to communicate effectively, written and oral
U.S. Citizenship or Lawful Permanent Resident Status required
 
 
Other Desired Skills:
 
Familiarity or experience with Copernicus trajectory modeling tool, OTIS, Malto, EMTG, or GMAT is a plus
Familiarity with optimization techniques
GUI development experience
Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel
 
Education/Experience:
 
BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or BS/BA in Applied Physics or Applied Mathematics
0 – 5 years of experience
