Description:

We are searching for a Systems Analyst to join our team providing highly specialized IT resources to the Engineering and Resource Directorate at the NASA Glenn Research Center.  The selected candidate will perform (but not be limited to) the following job functions:

 

Application Support Functions

  • Install, configure and integrate engineering and scientific applications on end-user and lab systems.  Systems will be Windows, Mac, and Linux based.
  • Create and respond to application support issues entered into the environments ticketing system.
  • Provide help-desk support as needed for the research and engineering user community.

Licensing Support Functions

  • Annual renewal of engineering and scientific applications and licensing on servers, end-user systems, and lab systems.
  • Report on license usage issues, providing documentation and corrective steps to enhance license provisioning.
  • Create and respond to license support issues entered into the environment’s ticketing system

 

Required Qualifications:

The following skills will allow the individual to successfully complete job responsibilities:

  • Ability to install engineering and scientific applications and licensing, and configure certain applications to work in lab environments, with controllers and data collectors
  • Understand the importance of and having the ability to apply IT security controls, practices and policies
  • Must have exceptional understanding of Microsoft Windows 7 &10, Linux Redhat and CentOS, and Mac OS, especially to install and configure specialized applications on these systems
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Word and Excel
  • Clear writing and verbal communications in a team and customer environment
  • U.S. citizenship

 

Other Desired Skills:

The individual hired will be performing as a member of a larger team that has a varied skill set.  To this end, it would be a bonus (but not required) if the individual has any of the following skills or training:

  • Complete or maintain standard OS and other IT related certifications
  • PS and batch scripting, PHP programming, ColdFusion
  • Windows Server management in a virtual environment
  • Linux YUM and patching.  Redhat, CentOS or Ubuntu experience
  • Configuration and integration of single sign-on (Centrify), LDAP, CA Certs
  • Configuration and general use of web applications such as Atlassian products, PLM solutions, and MBSE tools
  • IIS and Apache/Tomcat installation and configuration
  • Understanding of license management and usage monitoring tools

 

Education/Experience:

  • Associates degree in Computer Information Systems or Computer Science
  • 3 to 5 years of experience
