Systems Engineer

Vantage Partners is seeking experienced systems engineers to support the NASA Glenn Research Center-led development of a new spacecraft power and propulsion (PPE) unit that is the first element for NASA’s Gateway for expanding human presence beyond low-Earth orbit. Duties include the execution of the PPE project requirements management, and coordination of multiple levels of higher and lower level requirements. Additionally, the incumbent will support plan development for the insight into the PPE assembly, integration, and functional/operational test effort; and insight into the PPE spacecraft level V&V effort and the PPE project level V&V effort. Plan development for the insight into the PPE spacecraft interface development and management and the definition and management of the PPE physical and functional interfaces at the PPE project level. Periodic travel to support technical meetings, training, and operations will be required.


Required Qualifications:

  • Systems Engineering: planning and delivering complex space systems or sub-systems
  • Requirements development and management; concept of operations development and alignment of requirements; allocation of requirements to sub-systems; assessment of system and sub-system impacts due to requirements changes
  • Technical assessments of internal and partner-provided Systems Engineering data and reports
  • Interface control requirements development and documentation
  • Verification and validation (V&V) planning; assessment of assembly, integration, and test planning documentation and results
  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communications skills
  • U.S. citizenship


Desired Skills:

  • Previous NASA or NASA-contractor experience
  • Knowledgeable in application of NASA Procedural Requirements (NPR) 7123.1 and 7120.5
  • Chemical space propulsion or space solar electric power generation background
  • Systems Modeling Language (SysML) experience; model development or application throughout the end-item lifecycle
  • INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional credential is a plus



  • BS/MS Engineering (Aerospace, Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering)
  • Year(s) of Experience: 7+ at the sub-system or system level
