Job Description:
Vantage Partners, in support of the GESS-3 Contract at NASA Glenn Research Center, is seeking a Systems Engineer to provide support to the NASA Solar Electric Propulsion (SEP) Project to perform systems engineering, integration and oversight activities for subsystems of the Electric Propulsion String subproject. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining up-to-date knowledge on assigned subsystems including the Xenon Flow Controller, Power Processing Unit, Hall Current Thruster, and Ground Support equipment. The Systems Engineer will support product development and system integration. In addition, they will support managing and monitoring product requirements from the system-level down to the subsystem-level and validation and verification efforts. The Systems Engineer will also be responsible for supporting all required reviews and risk assessments as well as assembly, integration, execution and overall test planning that includes Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
Required Skills:
- Experience and background in Systems Engineering principals and processes on technical/engineering projects
- Experience with verification and validation (V&V) planning processes; assessment of assembly, integration, testing, and test planning documentation and results
- Experience with technical system/subsystem engineering and integration
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to present technical information at customer and partner reviews
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- U.S. Citizen
Other desired Skills:
- Background/experience with NASA Systems Engineering processes
Education/Experience:
- BS/MS Engineering (Aerospace, Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering)
- 5 years of experience
